The Image Archives at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science contains over 777,000 images in a variety of formats, including prints, negatives, films, videotapes, glass slides and glass print negatives, film transparencies in 35mm and large format, electronic images such as those on CDs, and historical photographic equipment.

The Denver Museum of Nature & Science has 104 dioramas depicting the context of many of the Museum's collections of specimens and artifacts. From around 1910, the first diorama-type displays at DMNS consisted of flat oil paintings placed behind specimens.
